Making quite a bold statement, Cincinnati's livetronica impresarios Skeetones named their forthcoming EP Next Level. Well, if you're going to slap that sticker on the record, there better be some next level shit on the inside. The five-piece piece has seemingly made the decision, consciously or unconsciously, to add a little heart back into the synthetic and sterile live electronic scene. On "Argonaute," A soulful synth solo from Tyler Manarini takes the band away from the predominantly live glitch and dubstep worlds, and gives them a sound akin to a live rendition of an Archnemesis tune. Skeetones will be releasing Next Level in one week (March 20th) through Skeetones.com. Their March 23rd show at The Mad Frog in Cincy will serve as a release party. Let's see if they take it to the next level.
