Emancipator's Loci Records has long been our go-to domestic label for electronic chillout and downtempo tunes. In case the label has dropped off your radar, fans will be reintroduced to Loci's standout veterans and fresh-faced newcomers on September 6 when its latest compilation, Season Two, arrives.
One of those newcomers, the supremely talented and well-respected DJ and producer, Murge, has whipped all twelve of the album's songs into a smooth half hour mix that highlights the lush compositions, rich textures, and soothing sounds that each contribution posseses.
Fans familiar with the label will recognize familiar names like Tor, Lapa, and Frameworks, who not only add feature individual contributions, but join in the eye-catching mega-collab with Emancipator, “The Bridge.” One newcomer, DMVU, is known to heavy bass fans already, but makes his Loci debut with “How Far From What.” Mixer Murge also has his own song, “Climbing,” featured on the compilation.
Season Two is a big statement from a label cementing its reputation as an industry leader in its field. Fans will be able to share in that legacy when it hits all platforms this Friday. You can also pre-order a vinyl copy, but hurry, as there are only 300 total.
