Catch the downtempo dub sounds of Desert Dwellerson Saturday, February 18th at the Texas Yoga Conference. Fusing global sounds, psychedelic spirituality, and a passion for bass music, DD has revamped their exploratory sound to move not just the heart and soul, but the body as well. All weekend, the University of Houston will be inundated with yogis trained in the sacred arts of healing and expansion. Desert Dwellers picks up where they leave off, crafting a breathtaking performance of elegant psychedelia, world music, live instrumentation, and trance-inducing sonic soundscapes. The Bhakti House Band will open the performance before DD takes the stages and kicks things into high gear.
To capitalize on their newfound psy-step sound, the Desert Dwellers, comprised of Rara Avis, Amani Friend, and seminal psytrance producer Treavor Moontribe, have launched a Kickstarter Project to fund a brand new recording project. Melding the signature downtempo DD ethos with the bass culture aesthetic, the trio is taking its enchanting sound and adding an element of intensity that is so powerful, the passionately soulful Desert Dwellers expanse is compounded exponentially.
As the DD members live in farflung parts of California, Oregon, and New Mexico, finding time to get together, rehearse, and record, while still maintaining a hearty tour schedule has been difficult. With your help, not only can they reach their fiscal goals, but you can also play your part in the creation of a magical new musical experience. At various donation levels, Kickstarters can earn digital downloads, hard copies of albums, personalized remixes of any track of the donor's choosing, private performances, and so much more.
