An homage to Mr. Robert Nesta Marley, the first single from Willdabeast's new album Stay The Course teams the horn-slinging producer Will Glazier with Dave Samano's Keeplove? project. Full of soul and funk, the new 11-track monster gets a Super Best Records release in a week (November 10).
With "Is This Love," the fun pairing has this vintage midwest funk vibe, calling to mind the The Ohio Players and Lakeside with its rubbery bass and pitch-bent vocals. It's a throwback sound, with some potent glitch-hop feels that really sew up the signature sound of Willdabeast. Fans of the funk, and especially Glazier's fancy trumpet work will dig this inventive single. Additional bass, drums, and vocals come courtesy of Matt Taggart, Todd Templeton, and Gary Washington.
Willdabeast also features Dan de Lisle, who is, along with Glazier, a part of Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, which enters the western US portion of its nationwide tour this month. It's a busy time for 'da beast!
