You can always count on Frameworks to remix you right. Canadian downtempo and chill hip-hop producer Tor is about to deliver a stunning new remix album on Emancipator's Loci Records. Each track from 2016's Blue Book is lovingly remixed by a different artist, but Tor Sjogren is right to lead off with the reworking from Manchester's Matthew James Brewer.
Frameworks adds his signature pulsing groove to “Vaults,” which gets all sorts of haunting strings and bells—atmospherics so uniquely part of Brewer's arsenal. Label head Doug Appling even led off his Dusk To Dawn remix album with the Frameworks take on the title track.
Tor, himself, is quite the remix artist, having released well regarded takes for ODESZA and RÜFÜS DU SOL. His debut album Drum Therapy became the debut release on Emancipator's nascent Loci Records, and set him up for his sophomore release, Blue Book. The Blue Book Remixed album gets a June 9th release date on Loci.
Fans across North America will get to enjoy the British Columbia-based producer all over the place this spring and summer. Tor and Frameworks hit the Pacific Northwest hard with dates in Bend, Eugene, and Portland, Oregon as well as Seattle, Washington later this month, and then flip coasts for New York and Boston early next month. They'll be joined by Loci favorites Edamame and Lapa (Emancipator violinist Ilya Goldberg) on select dates. Sjorgren then takes on a string of highly-anticipated festival dates with Electric Forest, Konnexion, Shambhala, and Oregon Eclipse. Downtempo fans, rejoice.
