The M Machine - Metropolis: Remixed review

More concept artists than dance music trio, The M Machine is at it again for the pleasure of your ears and capitvation of your imagination. First there was Metropolis Pt. I, then came Metropolis Pt. II, and now the latest fulfilled fantasy is Metropolis Remixed. The euphonic saga’s third installation, Metropolis Remixed, meshes wildly different aesthetics to create an experience turned inside out and upside down, stitched together with an aura of nostalgia by maintaining a sense of familiarity through sound.
Metropolis Remixed consists of eight remixed tracks (from Metropolis Pt. I & Metropolis Pt. II), and one additional original from The M Machine. This all-star ballad of remixer talent includes the likes of Digitalism, Kill The Noise, Robotaki, Shinichi Osawa, Tantrum Desire, Matt Lange, Proxy, and Trifonic. All of the remixers add their personal dash of flavor to the album, making it a plethora of EDM tastiness.
The album flawlessly begins with Digitalism’s remix of “Moon Song,” a wonderfully wistful track that leaves the ears craving more. Kill The Noise’s remix of “Ghosts in the Machine” gets delightfully weird, and bumps up the energy with bass growls for days. The remixes of “Shadow In The Rose Garden” by Matt Lange and “Faces” by Proxy are haunting, beautiful and otherworldly. The album ends on a gorgeous note with Trifonic’s unique remix of “Black”. The track is distinctive in that it is more instrumental than most electronic music, incorporating standard EDM elements with traditional instrumentals and dreamy sounds.
