Boulder, CO-based, Soulacybin, has been taking fans on auditory journeys through space and intricate soundscapes since 2011, and with his new full-length album Stazi, comes another amazing journey. Released by Gravitas Recordings, this LP combines elements of the psychedelic with exquisitely refined dub creating nothing short of a masterpiece.
The opening track, "Siber," sets the mood for the rest of the album with simplistic synths that meld and accentuate the haunting strings that echo throughout the track. As the album progresses, the soundscape slowly and methodically changes with each piece, all offering their own unique addition to the musical experience. Melodic piano and guitar riffs interlaced with the textured ever-evolving synths make sure to prevent any type of musical stagnation.
With the journey coming to a close with the staple title track, "Stazi," John LaBoone, takes aim centering on the acoustic guitar and various nature sounds to create a beautiful close to the album.
With such amazing production quality and dedication to his craft, we hope to see Soulacybin creating musical landscapes for us in future space for many years to come.
