The psychedelic dub movement continues to spread, and as a result, labels like Six Degrees continue to collect this great "globetronica" and bring it to dance music fans looking for something a little bit more... shall we say... "mature" than mainstream EDM.
On September 16th, Six Degrees releases Psychedelic Planet, a collection of the best psydub, global glitch, and ambient world electronica spanning several countries, styles, and superstars of the scene. The compilation features 11 tracks (6 of which are unreleased), and includes Bassnectar's remix of the late great Cheb i Sebbah, Whitebear's take on David Starfire's "Big Chillum," and a Kaminanda remix of Vieux Farka Toure, the son of desert blues pioneer Ali Farka Toure.
Featured prominently on this collection is today's premiere from Banco de Gaia. We haven't heard from Toby Marks since Desert Dwellers gifted us their stunning remix of his track "All Sleeping" from his remix album Ollopa last fall, but we are thrilled to premiere his remix of GAUDI's "Hurriya," which packs a punch. Flowing through the tracks many movements, a solid groove carries us from one corner of the globe to another.
