Tigran Mimosa has rocketed to the top of the West Coast bass music scene with only a couple of years in the business under his belt. Growing up in L.A., MiMOSA was introduced to the hip-hop and rap of Death Row Records, before moving to the Bay Area and getting involved in the psytrance scene. His first trip to Burning Man, at the age of fifteen, turned everything he knew on its head. He began producing, melding the urban beats of his youth, with the soaring, thick sounds of the electronic music he was witnessing.
MiMOSA is in the midst of a grueling coast-to-coast tour. On Thursday of this week (March 31st), he'll be headlining New York's Irving Plaza, formerly The Fillmore, with Sleepyhead and Michal Menert. Just last week, he released a new EP, 58 Degrees, on False Idol Musik. You can download the album from his bandcamp, and donate money to the relief effort in Japan.
Next week, catch up with Twisted Records recording artist Benji Vaughan. He's set to release a brand new album as Younger Brother, along with label head Simon Posford. Vaccine will be out April 11th, and YB will be making four U.S. stops in anticipation of the release. Win tickets to each of the four shows through our Contests section.
