Nobody is more excited than us for the new ill.Gates album. The producer, showman, and raconteur has been busy traveling around with his good buddy KJ Sawka, teaching a whole crop of students (whom we've now been exposed to from The Class of 808), and somehow he's found enough windows in his schedule to put in some studio time.
So what do you do when you're a bass producer in the Bay Area and you love to collab? You give Mimosa a ring, that's what. These two bass legends have thrown down on a powerful new track from Terminally Ill, and we're lucky enough to be bringing it to our fans now! Just to demonstrate how diverse these two icons of the scene can be, they've assembled a wild roller coaster of a track that tackles bass house, trap, and even some hybrid fusion sound we can't even peg down.
The rest of the album features collabs with KJ, Youngsta, and other luminaries of the bass scene. Muti Music, ill.Gates' longtime label, will be releasing this monster on Beatport exclusively tomorrow (February 24), and then it goes wide March 10th.
Speaking of KJ Sawka, ill.Gates has some dates coming up with him in March and April, but first, on Saturday, February 25th, the pair hit Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado for Activate—featuring Yellow Claw, Herobust, and more bass gods.
