Panamanian-born singer, rapper, and producer MC ZULU has been on a life-long quest to find his sound. In the process, he's assembled some of the brightest producers in Chicago, across the nation, and around the world for his new album Electro Track Therapy, out October 4th.
Combining his passion for the Caribbean sounds of reggae, dancehall, and bhangra with modern forms of bass music and dubstep, along with Chicago-centric styles of juke and footwork, MC ZULU has crafted a highly unique sound that is original to him, his hometown, and each individual album down to the track.
From the early influences of Midnight Express to a fateful studio session with Farley "Jackmaster" Funk of seminal Chicago house group Hot Mix 5, MC Zulu has been involved with some cutting edge producers. On his new album, Zulu recruited the likes of Chrissy Murderbot, Radiohiro, Mochipet, and BIONIK, among others.
Through his tireless dedication to the craft, and a knack for finding the best producers and best collaborators in his city, MC ZULU has become a monumental figure in the world of electronic music.
