Envision Festival 2013If you're getting walloped by gargantuan snowstorms that knock out power for days…or you're bumming in a resort town where there just isn't enough of the white stuff, maybe it's time for a vacation.  And beyond just a tropical destination to shake off the winter blahs, why not journey to a transformational festival? One with comprehensive musical, visual and workshop offerings and a clear intention: we all envision this together…let's make it radiantly beautiful.

Envision Festival, now in its third year, is held on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The musical offerings of this gathering are largely electronic, exploring diverse blends of downtempo, dub, improvised electronic, world beat, and intergalactic adventure tunes.  With headliners like Emancipator and Random Rab, we're definitely looking forward to lush sunrise sets.  Acts like David Starfire (who plays the Premonicion pre-party in San Jose on Febuary 23rd, as well) are sure to deliver  intense stage performances with accompanying movement performers.  Starfire, who is touring his latest album Ascend (http://www.theuntz.com/david-starfire-ascend-review), is on fire with  world beat and electronic fusion.  That kind of unification and blending of styles in indicative of the sonic offerings of Envision.

Outside of the incredible electronic acts, we're  looking forward to the folky sounds of the powerful duo Rising Appalachia, as well getting some Latin flavor from groups like Montebong, who mix reggae, ska and latin influences to get crowds moving. From moments of transcendence with Desert Dwellers, to the down right dance party The Polish Ambassador is sure to bring, from the sexy chill-step of Thriftworks to the diverse ethnic offerings of Adam Shaikh, no doubt that throughout the week a wide variety of styles will create a groove and inspire sacred movement and communion of the tribe.

Unique performance experiences, such as a yoga session under the Earth Harp, promise interactions with music, sound and vibrational healing.  These kind of transformational offerings deepen the intentional direction of the festival.  Collaborative efforts, such as The Envision orchestra--which features an all-star selection of the festivals musicians in a co-creative enterprise unique to Envision--do the same.  Movement performances, featuring such talented acts as Quixotic (who will be offering a contemporary dance workshop as well), will also enliven, enlighten and inspire expression.

Envision will draw participants from around the globe who seek to co-create a space for community, celebration, growth and transformation.  A huge workshop and movement schedule promises a festival full of learning, exchange, play and expression.  The art, decor and installations are sure to make the festival a visual feast and a garden of exploration.  Live painters, a visionary art gallery from Tribe 13, installations and remarkable (and sustainable) stage design…all that, plus the radiant iconic duo of visionary art, Alex and Allyson Grey, will be performing a Body & Soul Drawing Ritual and a "Anthropocosm"  Illustrated talk as well as painting live throughout the festival.

With an independent travel agency created just for the festival offering everything from surf lessons to horseback riding, the Magic Monkeys Kid's Zone, and the diverse programing of art, music, healing and more it seems that every possibility has been envisioned for this gathering.  Now all that awaits is the arrival of the "envisionaries" who will bring this dream to life soon.  PURA VIDA.
