A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Pawnee, Oklahoma early this morning, some 50 miles from Tatanka Ranch in Stroud, Oklahoma, the site of this weekend's Backwoods Music Festival. While the shallow earthquake (6 km below the earth's surface) was felt as far north as Nebraska, and well south into Texas, organizers at Backwoods noted that there were no damages reported on-site, and most attendees slept through the quake.
Festivities kicked off this past Thursday with Space Jesus and Desert Dwellers, and continued last night with the likes of Liquid Stranger, Manic Focus, and Nahko and Medicine for the People. Single day tickets are still on-sale for tonight and tomorrow night, with VIP packages and camping options available, as well. Visit backwoodsmusicfestival.com for more information. Performances slated for the rest of the weekend include moe., NERO, Big Gigantic, Tritonal, and Illenium.
