This past friday night, after their gig at Jack Rabbit's in Jacksonville, Florida, Zoogma bass player Ryan Nall was involved in a stabbing incident. Details are still very vague, and while Ryan is healing up, the band will still continue with their WinTour 2011.
From the Zoogma website:
"Despite rumors circulating the internet, we are NOT canceling ANY of the 2011 Zoogma WinTour shows. Ryan was stabbed in Jacksonville, FL on Friday night and is recovering well. With the help of other musicians, THE SHOWS WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. Dave McSweeney of Jacksonville, FL based Greenhouse Lounge sat in for the majority of an improvisational set at The Engine Room in Tallahassee, FL Saturday night. Ryan was even able to play "Jerry Diesel" less than 24 hours after the incident. Eric Moore will be playing some bass with us in Savannah, GA tomorrow and Monozygotik will spin some tracks before we start. We'll continue to get through this with the help of our amazing friends!"
Much Love, Zoogma
Here at TheUntz.com we send out our most heart felt wishes for Ryan's speedy recovery. We expect Ryan to be back on stage slappin' that bass with as much enthusiasm as before this unfortunate incident.
Here's a brief note from Ryan after probably one of the longest and strangest nights as a touring musician.
"What's up, this is Ryan. First of all, thank everyone for all the positive vibes and warm wishes, it was a very long night. Early this morning I was stabbed at an after party in Jacksonville and fortunately the blade passed between my spine and kidney. I'm recovering now and should be straight in 4-6 weeks. I'll make more announcements when appropriate, thanks again y'all."
