In the modern world of electronic music, we continue to see DJs reach beyond traditional mixing and sampling techniques as they dare to meld musical genres from complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Hailing from Music City, USA,
Wick-It the Instigator has mastered the art of turntablism and composition, cranking out one crowd pleasing mash-up after another throughout 2011. Earlier this week, he released a new album Grindhouse Basterds, with the statement, “This Quentin Tarantino themed projected contains hip-hop, mashups, remixes, dubstep, and electronica all rolled up into one.” Similar to Tarantino’s interrelated storylines, the producer weaves multiple samples and sounds changing the listeners grasp on the music resulting in an endless flow of hype and high energy entertainment for his audience. Celebrating New Years in his hometown of Nashville, Wick-It the Instigator will be a part of the Official
Bassnectar NYE Pre-Party held at Cannery Ballroom December 30, 2011.
