Editor's note:
Our continuing series of artist-curated lists has unleashed a really cool concept from one of our all-time favorite artists. David Satori has been a staple in the transformational festival world with his projects Beats Antique and Dirtwire. Cultivating an incredibly unique sound fusing world music with contemporary production techniques, Satori's multi-instrumental talents have captivated audiences around the world.
But where does the wizard seek inspiration and discover all those instruments that we can't even pronounce? It's easy. The guy has an encyclopedic knowledge of some of the biggest world music superstars dating back decades. If there's a neat sound you've never heard before in a Beats Antique song, chances are good that he's culled influence from an incredible act you've never heard of (until today). David was kind enough to put together a list of his Top 10 World Music Superstars for us, and you're about to get your learn on.
You can catch Satori along with Zoe Jakes and "Sidecar" Tommy tonight and tomorrow night as Beats Antique's Creature Carnival descends upon Boulder Theater for a double dose of Colorado action alongside Moon Hooch.
