7. Oriental Uno
"Uno" was the first experience for many Beats diehards. Even back in the day, the seminal sound was there. What an idea: fuse cutting edge electronic production with the folk music of eastern Europe, the Middle East, and west Africa. Totally bonkers, but look what we got.
6. Sideswipe
I leapt out of my chair when I heard this one. Finally, Beats Antique perfectly captured the desert blues originated by Ali Farke Toure with their own Afrobeat stylings and horn stabs, layering the whole thing with a thick coating of sweaty funk. Delta blues in the desert. This is my jam.
5. Puzzle
This tune is cool, because it demonstrates that while there is a ton of fanfare about the instrumentations and quirky live elements thrown in for fun, at the heart of it, David Satori is a studio production whiz. Their most "computery" jam by far, the glitch fundamentals are sound--this is some nasty shit.
