5. Pegboard Nerds
Holy infamous bass, Batman! There’s no question that this Scandinavian duo is going to be a huge force in the scene in 2014. Peboard Nerds' unique style blends heavy bass, trap, and militant hip-hop. Not to mention they have been on tour with GRiZ and have been picked up by Krewella’s management team, Th3rdBrain. It has been crazy to think about how far these guys have come in a relatively short time. Their productions keep improving and their stage presence is killer. Expect throbbing bass, headbanging breakdowns, and heart pumping electro that will keep your dancing shoes in extra wobble mode. You might want to buy a tripod for your iPhone to record it all. There won’t be a soul in the crowd who isn’t jumping to these addictive beats.
4. GRiZ
Speaking of Mr. Kwiecinski, few fans will be left at the stages counter-programmed during GRiZ's set, and we feel bad for those artists. No one was hotter in 2013, and it's hard to imagine that many artists will have more of a draw by late April. Grant will be shattering the stage with his high-flying bass, soul-pumping grooves, and technical sax work. You don't need to worry about missing this set, there aren't going to be any other options.
3. The Polish Ambassador
You can't touch “the world’s funkiest diplomat.” Over the course of 6 years, this Oaktown producer's sound has dipped and swirled through a staggering range of styles, with each album exploring uncharted sonic territory. Warm, analog dreamwave; mind-altering glitch; world-infused groove; bass-fueled breaks; sexified downtempo; electric lullabies; and psy-fi funk are just a few of the genres that have poured from The Polish Ambassador’s soul into earbuds and ghetto-blasters across the galaxy. If you have never seen him live, CounterPoint would be a great time to put on your space shoes and prepare for take off!
2. Ott.
The UK-born, LSD-raised producer, Ott, put on such an amazing performance at Atlanta’s Terminal West in 2013, he decided to release a live album Ott and the All Seeing I Live at Terminal West. You can listen to the album in its entirety at Spotify to relive the magic learn what positive vibes an Ott show brings to the stage. The music transcends any standards or genres that society could ever place on a sound. You have to hear it for yourself to totally immerse your soul in his phenomenal production and songwriting capabilities. This is one of the reasons why Ott stands out on CounterPoints stellar lineup.
