John Burcham, otherwise known as Psymbionic, has a history of remixing tracks that touch him with a certain sense of musical nostalgia. Whether its his lovestep and glitch-hop hybrid remix of his favorite Daft Punk song, "Something About Us" or the drumstep remix he did of "Clint Eastwood" by the Gorillaz he's made quite a few.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Give it Away", 2Pac & Dr. Dre's "California Love", a Trap infused take on Weird Al Yankovic's "White & Nerdy," this year alone he has practically put out one a month. On top of that, he gives them away as free downloads as a token of appreciation to his fans and fellow music lovers. Well, it had been a few months, and The Untz was starting to wonder if the well had run dry for 2012. A very busy man, John's been on the road touring coast to coast. He also recently curated Neurovation, a charity compilation with Gravitas Recordings and he's been working on his own new music. We could hardly blame him for not having enough time to dabble with some new remixes. Not. So. Fast. Out of nowhere, Psymbioinc has released yet another nostalgia invoking remix. This time he throws a rather funky glitched out twist on the classic Steve Miller Band song "Fly Like An Eagle."
