You don't reach 18 years by not knowing what you're doing.
Shambhala Music Festival returns to Salmo River Ranch in Salmo, BC August 7-10 for yet another blowout event. The long-running festival has proven time and time again that it can the biggest and best artists in the world, and they are all drooling to come play one (or more) of the six decked out and wildly decorated stages in a heartbeat.
As of this past weekend, all six stages have revealed their lineups. The Pagoda will be anchored by Pretty Lights, Kygo, GRiZ, Bakermat, and a special mystery headliner yet to be revealed.
The Village is a classic, and features Datsik, Excision, Skrillex, Big Gigantic, and a punishing 200,000 Watts of bruising PK Sound. Be careful.
The Amphitheatre sports a wide assortment of trap and future bass, with highlights HeRobust, Mr. Carmack, G Jones, David Starfire, Ana Sia, and many more.
Fractal Forest claims to be the funkiest stage of them all, and they might be right. They've got A.Skillz, Stickybuds, Fort Knox Five, The Funk Hunters, Beat Fatigue, and two legends in Mix Master Mike of Beastie Boys fame, and DJ Jazzy Jeff of... well... everybody knows him.
Settling into its second year, newcomer The Grove has all that deep bass you're looking for, with Bonobo (DJ Set), Tipper and Android Jones, Liquid Stranger, and Birds of Paradise, among others.
Finally the Living Room is where the the underground sound survives. Tipper makes another appearance, and DJ Harvey is preparing a four-hour set. Adham Shaikh, Coyote Kisses, El Papa Chango, and Andrew Interchill will be holding it down.
Tickets are still on sale for $365, but make sure you get on it, because last year sold out, and you don't want to be stuck outside this one. Head on over to www.shambhalamusicfestival.com now, before it's too late!
