sAuce's lastest offering, 19∞9, is a picture-perfect demonstration of a producer mixing downtempo/ambient elements with upbeat rhythms and a psychedelic, space-trip vibe. These 2 tracks really take the listener for a ride on a good sound system. The dynamic of sound he crafts is not limited to one single genre. Keeping away from the hyped "EDM trap" sound, Caleb Young produces a very satisfying groove that most EDM fans could get down to.
sAuce collaborates with Illegitimate Children on the track "Mountain Glam" and they use a wide variety of ear-pleasing melodies, bass lines, percussion, and indescribable alien bird chirping if you will, or somehow they created an original sample. Keeping the vibe similar in the track "Double Double U," Young gives us a progressive space-funk tune that's unlike much I've really heard before. His sound is unique enough that I cannot easily peg his influences. This music really could go both ways - to either get you up and dance or it could be perfect background music for a cuddle puddle/after party.
If you like the sounds of Tycho or Emancipator I could see you enjoying sAuce. With prior releases on Muti Music, Gravitas, and Gruntworthy, this guy is on a prolific streak. Expect a ton more. Grab this two-track EP March 26th on Muti.
