Over the past two years, Brett Frischer has periodically popped back onto our radar with a super impressive release, and then vanished back into the shadows. His Prismada project made one of those rare appearances back at the beginning of the pandemic with “Oshen” from our friends at The Undergrowth, and now he's back with the Asheville-based collective for a new two-track EP.

Specializing in ultra-dark halftime, neuro, and 140, Frischer once again scores a direct hit with both of the tracks on this EP, nailing that super eerie and evil sound that pulls me right in. Today's premiere, “Lamukta,” is the B-side of the EP, bringing up the pace from this minimal halftime title track to this wubbier, slightly more playful number. But trust me, it's still real flippin' dark.

Luckily, you don't have to wait too long to get the complete set. Damagaia is out tomorrow (November 5) on The Undergrowth.
