After taking their homegrown circus and live musical collective on the road throughout North America, team Lucent Dossier Experience came home to showcase their Light Of The World tour for their West Coast family. The tour hit smaller, intimate venues with unique acts in each city before marking the return to Los Angeles with a late July performance at Club Nokia.
The evening began with The Human Experience, David Block’s principal project, featuring former American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart. After months of attending various music festivals, completing a successful Indiegogo campaign and a shooting a futuristic music video that takes her away from the mainstream eyeballs into the a completely new realm, she and Block mixed live electronic music with powerful vocals. The combination of the two was perhaps unexpected but showed off the strengths of both Block and Reinhart as they blended their talents to captivate the audience early on.
Well under the venue’s capacity, there was plenty of room to wander and dance throughout as the world-renowned Lucent Dossier Experience began their first of three sets. Though the room lacked the usual immersive experience, the stage setup is simple and the performers are the real deal. The people on stage shine an inner beauty onto the eager crowd, creating an energy in the room that makes your heart grow, mind shift gears, and takes you by the hand on their journey of visual and auditory stimulation.
The live music components featured world-class bass music from soon-to-be-released Light of the World. Without it, the show would simply not be the same. The sheer musical talents of Dream Rockwell and band members Atla Gadret and Frankie Metaphase complement the talents of fire-spinning performers, aerial artists, contortionists, and captivating visual elements to perfection.
It’s safe to say that the Lucent Dossier Experience is in full bloom, continuing its rise from the underground depths of LA where it all began over 10 years ago.
Lucent Dossier’s next experience awaits those making the trek to Shambhala Music Festival this weekend in Salmo, BC.
