This is round two of The Untz Podcast interview with Alex Botwin. On yesterday's show, we discussed the difference between Alex B and Paper Diamond, and other nuances of his sound. Today is more about the work behind the music: being on Pretty Lights Music, his own label Elm & Oak, and non-music projects like art and film.
Botwin has been a pioneer in many areas of electronic music: livetronica, beat music, and most recently, the bass movement. His album Levitate is available for free at www.prettylightsmusic.com, and he's currently working on a new single and EP. His music will be featured on the upcoming Graffiti Fine Art documentary, and he'll be joining Camp Bisco X, Electric Forest, and Global Dance Festival, among other bills.
Coming up in the next couple of weeks on The Untz Podcast, we'll have Zoogma, Porter Robinson, and some special guests from the RE:GENERATION Festival, taking place at the end of the month in Horning's Hideout.
