In the heart of Colorado lives a man whose own heart is as cold as his icy environs ... at least his music would have you think so. Chris Cox, better known as Omega, has been weaving in and out of various genres on the spookier side of electronic music--industrial, jungle, psytrance--before landing squarely in the darkest depths of dubstep. Like his contemporaries Bird of Prey and NiT GriT, Omega strives for a melodic sound. But, what clearly sets him apart is a penchant for pure evil. Super-low frequency "yeah" wobbles fall sparsely over slow-motion beats.
Cox's latest EP, Inception, is out today on Bandcamp and Addictech, and features a couple of dark numbers--stay tuned for the full review later today. To celebrate the release he's giving YOU free music. Does that even make sense?
It's his latest offering, Vengeance, which sounds like Transformers fighting underwater. With laser torpedoes, dude.
