Pretty Lights released "Spilling Over Every Side" today, the second of three EP's to be released as a trilogy this year. The early announcement of today's release came through Facebook via Derek himself. "EP #2 will drop at 4 pm MST. plus or minus 5 minutes. I've been up for 3 days straight finishing it, so I'm going to bed when it drops. I hope you like." The sample laden, genre blending, drum happy, dance-a-thon has already graced these speakers twice through. The EP is available for free download here.
The EP wasn't the only news out of the Pretty Lights camp, as today it was also announced that Adam Deitch (Break Science) would be replacing Cory Eberhard behind the drums when Pretty Lights performs live, starting this weekend at Wanderlust Festival. "Adam is basically one of the illest drummers out there right now and when his style combines with the PL style, it approaches sweet style overload. The combo of Derek Vincent Smith & Adam Deitch will undoubtedly bring the the PL shows to new heights... get ready."
And if that wasn't enough excitement for the day, it was announced that Pretty Lights' upcoming gig at Red Rocks is sold out, two weeks in advance!!
Looks like 2010 has been a good year for Pretty Lights, here's to continued success.
