Who is ready for something new? Denver-based producer Toy Box has been hard at work developing a fresh set of tunes to showcase his sounds to the ever expanding world of dance music.

Upon first listen, the Short Stories EP seems to move in many different directions. Upon closer inspection, one can uncover a highly unique and creative common thread weaving each of Carter Matthews' installments together. Of all the impressive elements combined throughout each track, the most interesting is the use of live mandolin melodies. The vibe of each tune provides the perfect atmosphere to let the haunting strum of mandolin strings coalesce into bright harmonies.

Although we only get four tracks to enjoy, they certainly leave us wanting more. Fans of Odesza, Emancipator, and Bonobo will find a refreshing take on trip-hop and glitch music fit to satisfy your ethereal cravings.
