Very few fans of TheUntz.com were surprised when we chose Decadence NYE as the #1 NYE EDM Event in the country. When we caught wind a couple months back that Global Dance was bringing Pretty Lights and Bassnectar to Denver, CO for a 2-day New Year's Eve blowout, we were mightily impressed. When we found out that Above & Beyond and Dada Life would be anchoring those same two nights in the second giant room at the Colorado Convention Center, we gave props where they were due.
When we learned that Tiesto had been added as a headliner on Dec 30th, we thought they were kidding. Then they went crazy and added half the PLM roster with Break Science, SuperVision, and Paul Basic. That's Colorado royalty, right there. But they had to be done there, right? Nope. Datsik, Beats Antique, Keys N Krates, 12th Planet, and Odesza soon followed. Finally, as if that all weren't enough, they recently added the cherry on top--legendary producer BT rounded out a lineup as diverse as the many colors of the EDM rainbow.
Since Denver has become a hub in the world of electronic music, it makes sense that its flagship EDM NYE event should be equally big. Global Dance has teamed with AEG and LiveNation to tackle production and deco in the 600,000 square foot convention center. The two massive rooms will more or less separate bass and trap from house, trance, and electro. The Pretty Lights Music roster takes over the Bass Arena on Tuesday, December 31st, more or less, turning it into the Illumunation Arena for the night. Regardless, fans will be able to enjoy a wide array of styles and sounds between the two rooms over the course of the two nights.
This is the third incarnation of Decadence NYE, and the first year it's moved to two nights. By this point, Global Dance has figured it all out, and the machine is running as smoothly as it can. General Admission tickets have sold out at the first three levels, leaving only a small number of tickets at the $85 level for each night. Fans purchase 2-day GA passes for $160 saving themselves a couple of bucks.
The VIP level has single day passes at $200, and 2-day VIP's remain only at the $350 level. To make things easier, Decadence has partnered with area hotels to give ticketholders a chance to stay near the venue, and bundle their experience. You can also bump up to the VIP Cabana level, which offers private entrance to the shows, bottle service, exclusive viewing areas, and more. All these packages and tickets are available at decadencenye.com/tickets.
This party knows its crowd. The bass is there; the electro-soul is definitely there. House, trance, and electro fans can't possibly be disappointed with their side of the lineup. There is absolutely something for everyone. Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dance 2013 away with some of the biggest names in electronic music. We know where we'll be.
