To celebrate the closing of a whirlwind early summer tour for the Boulder-based trio
DYNOHUNTER, the three-piece has kicked down a bold remix of legends dead prez and their "50 in the Clip" cut. After stops in Wisconsin, Illinois, Summer Camp, Wakarusa, and Desert Rocks, saxophonist and producer Clark Smith, drummer Justin Ehmer, and bassist Fred Reisen hit Sonic Bloom this past weekend for their no-holds-barred finale of The Untz Challenge III Tour. What better way to commemorate a gaggle of huge shows than with a reworking of one of the most militant acts in hip-hop history. Speaking of "Hip Hop," the low, rolling wub DYNOHUNTER uses in this remix is very reminiscent of the original dead prez hit many consider to be one of the first dubstep tunes. Of course, shiny synth work and Smith's sax swoop in to give the track some extra sparkle. Don't forget to catch the HUNTER when they team up this Saturday with
SunSquabi, Lucid Vision, and
2NUTZ at the
Bluebird Theater in Denver.
