Fans of downtempo Tipper and Spoonbill are gonna flip over the new Cualli album Birds of Bliss, which is slated for an October 12 release on Kalya Scintilla's Merkaba Music label.

Inspired by a trip to South America, the lush, psychedelic soundscapes of Aaron Holsapple are enhanced by Peruvian flavors, especially on today's premiere, "My I." Light, warbling beats and bass build into a full on flute and lute-style melodic breakdown, accompanied by the soothing vocals of Sophia Boedecker.

A rising star in the psychedelic bass and downtempo dub scenes, this is a monumental album for Cualli, a member of The Mile High Sound Movement, who will undoubtedly see his star rise even further with the release of these Birds of Bliss.
