Alex Calver, aka Calvertron has been on the music scene since the early 2000’s, but he wasn’t always an electronic music producer/DJ. Originally, Alex was a metal singer and guitarist. The past decade has been quite the transformation, and Calvertron has been all over the UK scene making his mark. With high regards from fellow bass artists like Excision, Datsik, Laidback Luke, and 12th Planet; it is clear the Calvertron is making a splash.
Calvertron recently released a remix EP for the track "50k." It features fellow bass heavy artists Astronaut, Sawgood, and others. Each track pounds those subs to high hell, with that bass in your face Calvertron represents so well. The first track with Astronaut has a big room house feel to it. The track has so much energy built into it; undoubtedly it would hold its own at the club, while it whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Next, are the Karetus and Sawgood remixes, and they scream Knife Party to me. All in all, each one has a unique sound to it, and each producer does a great job of making each remix its own.
Calvertron is ready to big things in 2014 and this includes going global with touring set to take place in Australia and North America. He's got shows coming up March 14 in L.A. at Avalon Hollywood & his other is slated for March 15th in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
