Simon Green is gearing up for the release of his latest record, Migration, slated for a January 13 release on his longtime label Ninja Tune. The new Bonobo album will be supported by a full-fledge European and North American tour from February through May featuring performances by the full band, who last toured in the subsequent years following Green's 2013 release The North Borders.
“Break Apart” is the latest taste of Migration, which was conceived in the air, and executed in Berlin and London. Vocalist Rhye was brought on board to underscore the haunting, fuzzy, and brooding delicacy of Bonobo's signature style.
Born Michael Milosh, his plaintive voice both cries out and simultaneously matches the subtlety of the instrumentals, which ride a churning, roiling wave of emotion. Powerful stuff.
Milosh is not the only guest on the new album. Features on Migration include Moroccan and Innov Gnawa, Hundred Waters' Nicole Miglis, and Nick Murphy (formerly known as Chet Faker), who will be joining Bonobo at the iconic Red Rocks venue in May.
