If you're a psychedelic bass fan, chances are you've already seen BogTroTTer pop up on your playlists, or have seen his name on flyers for festivals alongside some of your favorite acts. For those just becoming aware of the talented young Curtis Czock, you're in luck, because one of our favorite labels, Shanti Planti, is unleashing an all-star cast of psybass elite on BogTroTTer's back catalog for a doozy of a remix EP, Reanimated, which drops tomorrow (February 16), featuring TEMPI, Oneness, Resonant Language, kLL sMTH, and many more.
One particular track stood out to us from this bumper crop of glitch-hop, though, and we just had to have it in our greedy little paws. Digital Rust took a dose of BogTroTTer, and completely rewired "Dark Matter" into a bubbling monster of trippy twists and turns that flip the original on its head, while still honoring the source material. It's a wild ride off the edge of a steep cliff into the unknown. Perfect for taking a header into the outer reaches in the middle of a dreary work week.
At the end of the month, Digital Rust heads to Envision down in Costa Rica (which is already sold out, so sorry if this track is reason enough to grab your flights and head down there, but you're already S.O.L.). Meanwhile, BogTroTTer is finishing up his Australian tour this week in Byron Bay, and will return to the States to prepare for a number of club and festival dates, chief among them the much-anticipated Tipper & Friends Full Moon Gathering at the end of April in Live Oak, FL. BogTroTTer is one of those friends! He'll be joining Dave Tipper, Shpongle, and more at this intimate, IDM-filled experience at one of our favorite spots on the planet, The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.
