The day has finally arrived for the unveiling of The Night Is Young, from Big Gigantic, the EDM-infused, sax & drum duo out of Boulder, CO. Saxophonist Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken invented their own signature brand of hard-hitting dubstep, trap, and electro that blends airtight production with live instrumentations on a bombastic scale.
The pair have produced a number of albums and EPs, but this is the first since Nocturnal dropped two years ago. Elements of nu-disco, future funk, and indie-house are sprinkled throughout the album, which features fun guest artists and plenty of variety. The duo embarks on a tour beginning tomorrow in support of the album.
This is what Salken and Lalli had to say about the album:
The Night Is Young is kind of a blast from the past and a glimpse into the future of Big Gigantic. We wanted to stick with our signature hard hitting, funky, melodic sound while at the same time, expanding on some ideas and music we've always wanted to explore since we started this band. The Night Is Young not only represents the idea that Big Gigantic is at the beginning of something even bigger and even more gigantic, but, it also represents a new sound in a generation moving forward...
