You'd be hard-pressed to find a bass music act with as fiery a stage presence, as grueling a road schedule, and as rabid a fan base as ZEDS DEAD. The path Dylan Mamid and Zach Rapp-Rovan took to superstardom looks like a straight line pointed sky-high. The Canadian hip-hop enthusiasts found themselves riding the crest of the dubstep boom right to the top of the heap, on the backs of remixes of classic rock to rap to indie darlings. Everything DC and Hooks touched turned to gold.
Since their first show in 2010, to their theater-packing tours in 2014, Mamid and Rapp-Rovan continue to evolve, trading heavy dubstep drops for the hip-hop oriented sound of the trap movement, which hearkens back to the duo's early days. Now the pair's sound is a swirling stew of subsonic subgenres that serve only to whip Zedheads into a frenzy.
On May 9th, the twin-headed attack of ZEDS DEAD sets its sights on The Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA, just outside Philadelphia. Tickets are already dangerously close to selling out, so make sure you jump on them quickly.
