If you haven’t guessed already, we are really fuckin pumped about ThazDope Records hosting one of our stages at The Untz Festival this year. There are probably a million (and a half) reasons why the Thazdope crew needs their own stage at a festival but today we focus on just one.
Vusive has a spot in the showcase and he just dropped a brand new EP, Rupture. In trying to maintain my professional veneer, I have no trouble reporting that this shit has got that sauce.
In four beastly tracks, Alex Vu holds nothing back. Each tune boasts supreme sound design skills and a crisp balance of melodic foundations and wonky textures. If I had to pick one tune to best represent the spectrum of abilities laid out in this EP it would definitely be “Sway Erryday.” Although each track brings its own flavors, this one in particular goes all the way up into the next realm of creative potential.
We are going out on a limb to say that Vusive should be on every fan’s watch list for the rest of this year. The Rupture EP seems to be a strong statement for the future of this up-and-coming producer and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
You all should head straight on over to the ThazDope Bandcamp and grab a download of this supreme new release before it’s too late. It's actually a good destination for you, anyway, since there are so many incredible releases in the labels' back catalog to count. It's a good primer for the summer, that's for damn sure.
If you are feeling especially cheeky, then grab your tickets to the The Untz Festival for a chance to catch the rise of ThazDope, Vusive, and a pack of other insanely talented producers, too, like Eazybaked, Niraya, Moniker, and Alejo. You'll also be able to catch Vusive on the Wake The Nation tour as it snakes its way across the country from the midwest to the southeast to Colorado and on out to Mariposa, California in time for the festival June 2-4 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. Smokestax, beardthug, LoDurr, and a whole host of ThazDope's best are saddling up and preparing for the massive tour, and so should you. Best find your way to one of these dates.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Get your tickets at www.theuntzfestival.com before they're gone.
