Straddling the Atlantic, the US/UK combo of Static Function and Vannin has arrived. Twofold gets the notoriety it deserves with a prestigious release on Datsik's Firepower Records. The Untz is thrilled to debut The Prelude EP, which takes a bold step in a different direction for the powerhouse dubstep label. Leaning towards a psychedelic/tribal sound, the EP builds from a trippy opener, "Clandestine," into heavier and heavier territory with "Double Up" and "Motion Sickness," before climaxing with "Ordnance." "Simulacrum is a mind-bender, running the gamut of airy eeriness to bone-crushing bass. A collaboration with FreeFall results in "DJ," a melodic closer with plenty of heavy to go around.
