TRiLL MURRAY - Hiding Behind Every Door

In a week packed with releases from a wide swath of EDM artists big and small, one stood out among the crowd. The new TRiLL MURRAY album, dropped this past Monday by 710 Records, is all you'd expect from the mysterious masked man. Lust is a 12-track monster packed with new originals and some enticing remixes from folks like +verb and Burgle. Today's featured track, "Hiding Behind Every Door," encapsulates all that is trill about Murray. Fluttering arpeggios dance across the surface of razor-sharp hi-hats. There's a purple undertone to the layering of tracks on this singular cut. Kind of a big orchestral sound, as well, with big cymbal crashes at the climax of each pattern. The highlight of the cut might just be the chill sections, with sparse minimalism winning the day on the melodic front. It's just one more piece of the puzzle that is this enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a Phillies blunt.
