7. The Same Disease
It's easy to tell Menert is a movie buff, because he's got a flair for the cinematic. Laying layer upon layer of thick, meaty samples creates this dramatic build before a ride-off-into-the-sunset sendoff for our powerful montage. It's the kind of pizzazz of which cinephiles dream.
6. Sun Shadow
This Beatles homage blends east and west so fluidly, it's the latter day "Tomorrow Never Knows," as far as I'm concerned. Blasting beats and bass with exotic sitar, this early tune in Menert's repertoire really demonstrates his full range appreciation for music regardless of style or era.
5. Sky City
One of the gems on the sprawling double album Even If It Isn't Right, "Sky City" has that knee-breakin' swagger that gives glitch-hop a good name. That infectious groove just grabs a hold of you, and won't let go. Barrels of bass for days, and plenty of spunk in this one.
