On October 8th, Tiësto performed at the sold-out Home Depot Center in Carson, California, the final stop of his "Club Life College Invasion Tour". Billed as the "Largest Single Headline DJ Show in U.S. History", the 26,000 capacity venue was packed with adoring fans. Porter Robinson, Dada Life and Diplo openend up for the Dutch master, effectively warming up the crowd and setting the stage proper (See our slideshow of the openers).
Tiësto's set complete with an elaborate light show, fireworks and more showed he was raising the bar in both performanace and production for this historic night. At some point during his two-and-a-half hour set Tiësto addressed the crowd, his all too familiar smile taking over his face as he excitedly spoke:
"Hello, Los Angeles, today is a very special day. You and me are part of history now. This is the day that we'll all remember that dance music is bigger than anything else in the world, I thank you for that! So let's celebrate and party!"
Tiësto is currently touring in South America but will returning to the U.S. at the end of the month for some Halloween themed events in Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
