Summer is around the corner and that means the start of music festival season in Colorado. Triad Dragons, Global Dance and AEG Live are excited to announce the ninth annual Global Dance Festival (GDF) at Red Rocks Amphitheater – the largest dance-music event in the Rocky Mountains – July 14 through July 16, 2011. This year’s GDF announces a three day lineup, making 2011 the most exciting and largest Global Dance Festival to date.

As a result of selling out for the last three years with over 10,000 people in attendance, a second day was added to the lineup in 2010. This year’s GDF spices it up with the announcement of a third night featuring revered live bands and accomplished performers. Thursday features Colorado’s first-ever performance by acclaimed electropsychedelic project EMPIRE OF THE SUN. KID CUDI, BIG GIGANTIC, INNERPARTYSYSTEM, SAM ADAMS, HOTTUB and Denver’s local acts will earn a chance to take the stage.

Friday’s lineup brings energetic dancing with LMFAO, MAJOR LAZER, SKRILLEX, NERO, DIESELBOY, PAPER DIAMOND, MANUFACTURED SUPERSTARS, AXIS OF EVIL, FURY, ISHE, and a handful of Colorado’s best local DJs showcased on three stages.

Saturday features world-class dance music artists including BENNY BENASSI, GARETH EMERY, AVICII, DADA LIFE, DAVE AUDE, EMMA HEWITT, METROPOLIS and ECOTEK performing live with PAGE, DRAGON, TRAJIKK, HYCLOUD, JAMES EGBERT and the state’s best dance music locals.

As part of the Global Dance for Life: A Day for Japan relief assistance campaign, for every ticket sold on this date, $1 will be donated to a Japan relief nonprofit organization. Last year, Global Dance for Life: Haiti Relief event successfully raised more than $84,000 for earthquake victims.

The stage is set for Global Dance Festival on Thursday, July 14, Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at Red Rocks Amphitheater, with gates opening at 5 p.m. each day.
