Anand Harsh, editor in chief of TheUntz.com and host of The Untz Podcast, had the pleasure of hosting the EDM Workshop at this year's Summer Camp Music Festival over Memorial Day Weekend. The 30,000-strong festival boasted a killer lineup of electronic music, and Harsh hand-picked some of his favorite acts to do a panel-style discussion about gear, the scene, and where this burgeoning market is headed next. It was an hour-long session, and today we bring it to you in its entirety. The panelists included Jesse Miller of Lotus a.k.a. Beard-o-Bees, DJ SOLO, Spankalicious, and Wick-it the Instigator.
There are a ton of cool things on this episode. DJ SOLO (Dave Abrams) discusses the importance of cue points to his style of DJing. Spankalicious (Kevin Moore) discusses his rig and how he functions. Then you get an audio lesson from Jesse Miller (pictured right) who throws down on the monome and Novation Launchpad for a sliced and diced off-the-cuff hip-hop session.
Thanks to everyone at Summer Camp Music Festival who made this episode possible. That includes Mike A, Dave Weissman, everyone's favorite conductor Matt Butler, the SCamp staff, and all the people who came out to enjoy not only the workshop, but the beautiful festival that continues to be one of our favorite places to party. See you next year!
