A fixture in the Bay Area bass scene, Alejandro Gonzalez is on the verge of dropping his second EP on the subsonic junkie scene. This Friday, January 29, the latest Spoken Bird EP, Liquid Soul Mantra, will be available from Street Ritual. The three-track offering demonstrates Gonzalez's devotion to the west coast glitch sound.
Today's premiere is the title track of the EP. With plenty of bass blasts and nods to Timbaland, the synthy sound is very much derived from the big festival scene out in California, and the dub-hop aesthetic of the Bay Area, where Spoken Bird stakes his claim.
It only makes sense that he celebrates the release of the EP at Wormhole Wednesday tomorrow (January 27), at The New Parish in Oakland, CA alongside The Profresher where weird bass comes to life. Snag this release on Friday if you're a fan of the glitchy side of things.
