Sam Pool set out to do something different. The result? Easily one of the best, most coherent, and wildly consistent sub-heavy albums of the year. SPL's knowledge and curiosity about the early dance music craze of Balearic Beat, born and bred in Ibiza and brought back to London by Paul Oakenfold sparked his creative juices something good. Taking is own signature grime and wub, and blending it with the classic style, Balearic Bass is birthed. An imaginative take that puts stale producers and chart-toppers to shame. This is how you do it, folks. You work outside the box, and you make something your own. Applause break. Every bass music DJ should add this one to their collection.
