How do you take things to the next level? Well, you gotta know where you come from. Midwest bass music impresario
Spankalicious has been given the task of chopping and screwing the latest album from
Skeetones,
Next Level. Kevin Moore thought it a fitting tribute to rework the futuristic livetronica of the Cincinnati bass-jam act with a little help from some artists who we dearly miss: ODB, Nate Dogg, Jacko, and recently passed Adam Yauch, MCA of the Beastie Boys. It's touching, but it's also slamming. More info on the web at
Skeetones.com. Spankalicious will be appearing at Strangeland Festival outside of Omaha, NE this weekend with
Minnesota and
BASSthoven, and hitting the mother of all Midwest festivals--Summer Camp--for two sets next weekend. Skeetones are celebrating the release of their brand spankin' new Grassroots hat this Saturday at Mad Frog in their hometown of Cincinnati. If you need a new lid, you know where to go.
