Chicago's Johnathan Thomas has been hard at work on the upper end of the tempo spectrum. Now he's taking his many years of service in juke, jungle, drum & bass, and halftime to collect a cadre of international artists on the bleeding edge of the experimental electronic realm alongside HNGVR.
Introducing Samsara Beats (founded by HNGVR, who curated the initial mixtapes), and its inaugural compilation, Syncopation, a staggering 30 tracks of wildly innovative tunes from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Holland, Italy, China, Malaysia, and beyond. Our faves include Lecoughski, Moralz, SomeJerk, and Telemeter.
But today, we shine a light on American newcomer BK. Not much is known about this producer, nor his new song “Inflicted,” but what we do know is that it melds the worlds of drum & bass and halftime with delicate smoothness, planting a foot in each world and cloaking the whole affair head to toe in black leather. It's a wholly original sound that has us excited for the rest of the compilation to drop on March 16th.
