Following one of the best reworkings of Pretty Lights on the star-studded A Color Map of the Sun: The Remixes, there were two possibilities for Cory Wythe. Either the talented young producer and guitarist from Vermont could stumble and choke like a certain Colorado-based football outfit... or, he could throw down yet another solid remix marrying his hard-hitting brand electro soul with one of the most iconic tunes of the last half century.

The Marvel Years remix of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" could conceivably replace the latter's stranglehold on the music for every Oscar-bait trailer we see each Autumn. Wythe layers pulsing bass with the drawn out, haunting howls and moans of Mick Jagger, alongside his choir of backup singers.
You know Marvel Years is going to drop this bad boy this weekend, at the 8th annual Gem & Jam Festival in Tucson, AZ. The prodigy is in good company on this stacked lineup. If you can't make it down to the desert, the next best thing is snagging this tune for your own enjoyment. Futuristic take on a classic.
