Bass music is held with the highest significance when it comes to the culture of the ever-changing electronic scene. It has become a catalyst for creation among young artists all over the globe and a mecca for the listening masses. It is the crème de la crème of electronic music and it is here to stay.
Due to its competitive and extremely progressive nature, with a steady flow of talent, artists must work hard to gain recognition.
Today we are diving into a killer twenty-nine track compilation, Rapture Studios Presents: Consternation. Hatching in Ohio, Rapture studios was founded by SLAVE and Visive. Their area of expertise is experimental bass and this collection zooms in on some hidden gems rising from the underground.
Digging deep down into unlocked portals, every featured track had me intrigued. Throughout its entirety there is a pattern of authenticity and truly exquisite noises—that crunchy yet gooey, drippy, skull vibrating bass. Standouts include selections from Smokestax, Chark, BoHemian, Peloquin, Danny Grooves, Smol, Torbjørn, Rest In Pierce, and Black Carl!
Consternation was impressive on so many levels; the flow was uninterrupted from start to finish and that is highly impactful when working with SO MANY diverse styles of sound. Kudos to Rapture Studios on this massive mix. I cannot wait to see the growth of this label and the progression of the hand selected producers displayed on this collaborative album.
