Soaking in the sun of his native Santa Cruz, Jake McLelan has developed a diverse style heavy on the dub and reggae, with modern production techniques polishing the hard-nosed beats. The new Tech Minds track blends retro dubstep with distinct island flavor, and a glitchy sensibility. The battle turntablist turned producer still carries that flair for the dramatic. Featuring the lush vocals of Kenz (soundcloud.com/thekenzmusic) on top, "Grind Slow," is a melting pot of styles of flavors that becomes something all its own.
