Denver-based Jay Jaramillo knows remixes. Since the young producer started producing as Project Aspect more than half a decade ago, he's built his brand around cutting edge takes on the pop landscape that hit the sweet spot for fans of that bass.
With his latest installment in an ongoing series, the name-your-price Remixes Vol. 4 leans heavily on the hip-hop world for fodder, with Jaramillo taking on Lil Wayne, Drake, and Schoolboy Q, among others.
Standout tracks on the remix release include a 808 Bass Chop Remix of Future and Weezy's "Karate Chop," as well as the subsonic, trappy take on Chris Brown and Tyga's "What They Want." A surprisingly silky version of "Latch" makes it's way onto the mix. The Disclosure mega-hit has enjoyed new life, thanks to Sam Smith's recent breakout stardom, and this smooth remake is a timely take perfect for dropping into sets.
If you're looking for a live reimagining of any of these new remixes, expect to hear some drop this Saturday, when Jaramillo is joined by longtime collaborator Ronnie Weberg (Unlimited Gravity) as Unlimited Aspect at Cervantes in Denver, CO on November 29th.
